Abstract
Nathaniel Hawthorne is an author which has caused much involved, especially among feminist critics, some of whom deem himself to be misogynistic and total supportive concerning this patriarchy in his texts. Evidence to this has been cited in his choose of the demure and quiet Sophia as his wife, albeit it can known she had amidst many close women in Hawthorne’s life, most out what were extra honest female coeval like Elizabeth Peabody and Margaret Broader.
