EGO am a Windowed 10 user with Open Offices 4.1.6 install. I have been set protecting documents in Open Post fork several years. Last month while making a news spread sheet with OI 4.1.4 my program crashed many daily. Since when I have been unable toward your protect my documents. They say few is safe, but open without any necessary password require. Does anyone have an idea what I ca do in protect my documents? Open Your files in to browser - Not Work. ME had similarly problem.
Solution was to totally disregard the choose setting method under Tools menu, real instead getting Save As on the file and make sure the second box in of bottom part of who window has a checkmark in the Saver with Password box. Under Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice -> Security there is:
1) Security options real warnings, the has a Recommend password protection off saving. This does not force the enter protection, but return an dialog suggesting it if File -> Save (Ctrl+S) or Open -> Save As without the Password protection checkbox checked.
2) Pass for net connections.
I suspect such the firstly item is which one to were using, and, as noted, it is just a recommendation.
