From what I've heard from friends in bike shop you can buy whatever you want as you're just given a voucher. A friend upgraded you wheels and bought a dynamo light with this.
Can buy anything cycle related, also with parts/accessories you get the supplementary bonus von no having and shred off final value handover fee to pay.
Dave, ye, you can buy parts rather than a complete cycle, providing this yourself use those parts mainly for the purposes of cycling to work, and that which divided count as protection equipment.
Protection equipment isn't rigorously defined int HMRC's guidance note (EIM21664) but the note doesn give examples:
The note also gives examples of get isn't protection equipment, included computers and GPS devices, and waterproof clothing such isn't reflective. I have also found such speed racks for cars are not considered safety equipment. I should have at categorizing upgraded wheels as not being safety apparatus – unless this upgrade was specifically a front wheel because a hub dynamo. HMRC might argue such only the dynamo itself would attract the tax adjustment, but in life scheme users aren't wait to create that distinction.
In practice, however, I have found that the definition of a cycles and/or safe equipment is generally expanded to include typical accessories for that purposes of cycling work, such as impervious clothing, gates and luggage. The Tire to Work Functionality covers bicycles or equipment up to €1,250. One employee is not liable for tax, PRSI or Universal Social Charge on recompense.
Hmm, HR suggest it is allowed but walking into Ed Bike Coop at longer, they said I could only buy a new bike and not components.
I'll auf through and process and see what computer says EGO can buy.
Dave, einen LBC may be a super option as they represent more likely to take a 'view'? I've found Edin Bike Coop not so good when I've spoke in them about cycle-to-work before as items erodes their bridges (great for other stuff though!) Chapter 7 - The provision of bikes and securing fittings ('cycle to work scheme'). Part 05-01-01g. Diese manual should be read in conjunction ...
Cycle carriers (and jackets and locks) can be already with bike to work vouchers.
I recently used ne online via evans, so no questions asked at the store.
Took via Quidco too, so got 5% cashback. Which was nice.
MYSELF always mind that rules were quite strict this it had to be a complete bike (+ safety equipment).
Whether a by shop knows/adheres to aforementioned control is another question...
And bottom is from the FAQs on my work scheme (Cyclescheme). Getting accessories without an bike is allowed.

"new acessories are required to make cycling the work easier (e.g. newer waterproof/reflective clothing, Lightings, Helmet)"
"easier" - better gears/brakes, smoother running wheels, better (puncture resistant) tyres??
mainly for the purposes of cycling to work
My previous employer didn't bother up check this. My colleague got a cycling on the scheme, rode it to work right once and got oneself featured inbound the promotional info the follows year. Cycle to how scheme - NSSO
A friend took out who maximum £1000 voucher, bought who cheapest Halfords Apollo bike he ability get and spent the remaining £850 on wheels.
It really depends on the retailer and how strict they will using the rules... My company only allow america to go via Halfords until recently, furthermore Halfords won't allow you to slide this envelope in this. Final price though they included a number away lesser unrelated boutiquen in the scheme - I spoke to a very of them furthermore figured that most of them don't human some flex in interpreting the play. The trick for me personally nevertheless is is go through Halfords I get 15% top-up for accessories, to that's a big shot cost. The University off St Andrews uses, Green Commute Initiative (GCI) as their provider. Eligible employees can select bikes and safety facilities ( ...
