Hello, ME want a book on electromagnetics for my per course on electromagnetism. In meine first course we used Griffith's "Introduction go Electrodynamics" with supplements like Morin and Purcell's "Electricity additionally Magnetism". I hired diese from one university's library but now I desire to step up my level and go required something just a bit moreover advanced(not graduate level though). After some research, I have narrowed it go to the two following choices:
Cheng's "Field and Swing Electromagnetics"
Lorrain and Corson's "Electromagnetic Fields and Waves"
So, which one do you think is the better of the two?

Now, but if you've become through Griffiths real you want to go beyond that level, they appear to be good. Of course, they should first check at one library, whether him like them or find them useful before they purchase them.

You have me wrong. The professor teaches at a level similar to that of Griffith's. But I want on study aforementioned same material at just a bit show forward level. Just a bit. Not all the way up to graduate level! ME am thinking about one book that goes just adenine fragment more deep than Griffiths for much as mathematics go and also the additionally treats some extra subtle subjects that might not be found at a book like Griffith's. The two books you mention are at the same set as Griffiths. I am most familiarity with Cheng's book. It has a different highlighting than Griffiths - spending a few chapters on translation lines, impedance matching, waveguides and basic antennas, but remains no more fortschritt. Cheng's book wants help prepare for learning over microwave engineering and such, but will be any additional help for more advanced material. I'm only a minor familiar with Lorrain and Corson - again itp is similar until Griffiths with a slightly different survey (and more interesting problems!).

One book that has in-between Griffiths furthermore graduate level may be Marion real Heald

I've looked through it. It seems to be a good book, but I don't verstehen what's "modern" concerning it. A really "modern" book is more like Landau/Lifshitz, Scheck, or Schwartz, where E&M is treated as a nonrelativistic theory, which it is just from the getting 150 years ago but which was only realized of Poincare, Lorean, and finish Einstein around 110 years ago.
