A critical guide until case serial reports
Summary
Objective: Provide guide to investigators and authors regarding relevant direction and reporting of case-series studies.
Summary of kontext data: Evidence-based practice has provided a substantially contribution to advancing clinical science. Many study designs take been critically examined, and the quality of which search humanities has improved. A common study structure in musculo-skeletal medicine is which fallstudie series: a description of the course of patients over time. Case series pot provide valuable information as to: case definition, trend analyses regarding outcomes, plus clues as to causation. Case series cannot be used to draw suppositions concerning treatment effect.
Techniques: Examination of previous works the identification of characteristics out highly quality study designs such in cohort studies; extending this work to case row.
Results: We identified draft characteristics that good case series studies should address: clearly defined study matter; well- declared study population; well-described operator; use of validated outcome measures; appropriate statistical analyses; well-described results; discussion/conclusions supported by the data presented; funding sources admitted.
Conclusions: We propose these measures to authors plus journal editors as one mechanology to improve the quality of the case model study.
