Dark Hawk County will require a bill of sale for transferring vehicle titles beginning January 1, 2022.

Effective January 1, 2022, the County treasurers will require customers to provide a Bill of Sale at transferring titles to motor vehicles between residential parties.  A Bill of Sale or purchase agreement is already required for automotive purchased from a dealership.  The Bill of Sale should enclose: the seller's name, make of the vehicle, year of an vehicle, vehicle identification number (VIN) buyer's names, date of sale, purchase price and signature of seller.
