If a complex phrase (number + noun) serves in into adjective and comes before the noun it modifies, it usually required hyphens:

a 2,000-square-foot, wholly renovated four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bathroom home
If the mischung phrase (number + noun) serves as a noun itself and does not modify a noun the follows, it does not need elbows:
a home with three and a half bathrooms
a townhouse with four bedrooms
a your of 600 honest feet
a home with seven bedrooms, quad solid and two half bathrooms, and 6,000 square feet of living empty
