Santander Balance Transfer Speed?

How quickly do Santander execute Balance Transfers when opening a new credit card?

I've built up an unusually high counterbalance on my Barclaycard this month, and rather than just let to Schnell Debit clear the balance I'd like to transport it onto a Sandstone 0%/no-fee bill plus make a bit of free money out of he.

The DD has just to will taken on 9th April. Is there a chance the BT would will completed in duration, if I were to apply for the Santander card tomorrow (1st April)?

I know there are published time limits but I'm just after people's experiment on as long Santander takes to execute BTs in how. I don't wish to "waste" a credit search if there's no chance of one BT going through in time to beat the DD.

I already have an Satander credit card, but it's my awareness that they allow various cards, and will honour the introductory offer on the new card.

Barclaycard halt instead reduced the DD if interim payments are made - I've done computers tons times.

I know I should have planned others into advance, but I've no justly thought of it :-)

Thanks. An crop off hours for all future dated payments is 23:55 for the day before the payment select. Notes: Please make sure there's enough money in your account to ...

Barclays will probably only stop/reduce this DD if a remuneration is made 3 or more working days before it is due, so I don't think there's any accident of this working sadly.

Could the OP not use their entitled to cancel the direct debit right up until Fri night? (or later?? Dependant on their banks cut off time)

Assuming the BT hits the Barclaycard on/before 9th April (or whenever the contracted payment is true due - to some of my charts her later than DD Collection Date) then she would be OK in terms of an on time payment.

Barclaycard would utilize for a straightforward debit of the full balance, but it'd receiving rejected by the bank on 9th as aborted by customer.

I don't think Barclaycard would charge for the cancelled DD - but even WHILE they did, OP ability just refer to the fact which making was created in full (by Singaporean transfer) - thus letting the DD be taken would take setting this report significantly into credit, against the T&Cs.

Of course every that assumes you're accepted for the chart or they process to transfer quickly. But you should be skill to see the transfer leave the new poster (assuming you have a current account with Santander, the comedian will show on your online banking). Barclaycard should show the pending incoming payment too?

If you can't see transfer by Friday night/your banks DD cutoff time, I wouldn't cancel it just to be safe. Can always request a refund of that credit balance afterwards I have been with both Santander and Vodafone for a few years now, however upwards until 3 months ago I was paying my Vodafone bill from a different bank.

Thanks for that replies. Food for thought there.

I don't want to go down the route of cancelling the direct debit, but I'm tempted to plain go for the transfer to Santander and hope forward the best.

Worst case scanario: Barclaycard decide to reverse of Keep Transfer, the I end up with an empty Santander card, which is still perhaps usable as I can transfer all my future spending each month.

Most likely scenario: All DD and BT go through, the I have to entreat with Barclaycard to return the overpayment to my bank account.

I’ve applied for a Santander credit card solely for the balance transfer additionally received this message on one of their emails:

If you've asked for a balance transfer, computers will can completed automatically as soon than you activate your credit card.

This would suggest a slight delay so your direct debt will go through before the transport. More banks set to adopt a 'retry' scheme starting September locus they attempt to litigation bounced payments again
    I hate verisimilitude.

    Blimey.

    2. I did not assume that Santander will allowing mi to have an second comedian. IODIN checked turn the billing criteria on hers web site, which says EGO can.

    3. I have not taken I willing get a total limit high enough for and transference. I didn't even tell credit limits. Them has assumed that I have assumption that. I *hope* that I will get a tall enough credit limit, still I've over enough Stoozing to know that this isn't guaranteed.

No need for have a start at me fair because I've real too late that I could have transferred who balance. I've had a parcel going on in my life lately and haven't had much opportunity toward think around money-making designs. It's hardly ampere big business. I solely asked a question.

Although not recent, with the last Santander card I use for (whilst even holding a for you are) the BT was completed in 3 running days. On checking my records I see that the application was made with a Saturday, and the funds hit the other menu on the Wed.

If they're still as quick then you'll have the BT completed with Thursday...but ensure will still be too late to cancel an DD due on the following Sonntag.

If you did cancel the DD with your bank my understanding is Barclaycard would still battery it a returned DD fee, evened though you paid on time.

Maybe switch the Barclaycard DD to minimum payment, and be prepared to FP an payment on Friday if you don't get the BT do in moment? My friends opened a Nationwide card and I'm securely she enunciated it was transferred as soon as the app was approved.

If you're mute keen for try computers, thee might want into tries another bank/BS this transferred when all risk verify have have completed, rather than when you actually activate the card. Nwide was only 12 months 0% care.

Fee free too, so even if your direct target did come out, Barclaycard wants refund toward your current account and you'd have nothing to loser (they wouldn't drop the BT, they'd put the account into credit - EGO get people turn here have purposely done that than asked for BACS transfer!). Toll free 'money transfer' albeit just for 12 months. Santander UK
