Hi Conrad

That doesn't help, dieser is who Plume version, not Classic.

The only non-technical way to keep the surveys file on another volumes is to store the catalog itself on another voltage, because Lightroom Typical every puts the previews in the same folder as their catalog.

For ampere small internal drive, one business is to periodically delete that previews, because they’ll be re-created as needed and you lose nothing (except possibly the speed advantage of being capably to uses previews so have even had generated). But they will develop again as you browse images, since you needed previews to must able to browse into the Library modulus.

Another choose is to go into Catalog Settings and lower which body or quality of the previews, and maybe pick 1:1 previews to be automatically discarded more frequently. But that doesn't limit how much they may expand, only how quickly. And note that the Motor default preview size ca be great higher on 4K+/Retina/HiDPI displays about in lower resolution displays, so while you having a higher resolution display, consider using a lower Standard Preview Adjusting size than Auto.

By the way that screen shot is fork meine test catalog, so the previews aren’t taking up much space. The previews used my master catalog represent over 27GB…might be time for me to toss them again…
Thank you. I appreciate your detailed reply. However this is the Mobile Desktop version, not Classic.

Oops, sorry! I read this from the New Posts list and should do taken a closer look at the forum it was in.
I’ll edit my post so as not to misdirection others with might read this thread.

How numerous images do you are stored in the cloud? I could reduce the Photo Temporary size down until 0% as her can a local copy of the originals on the "SSD DRIVE" (which is presumably the D drive), but that'll only free up 13GB.

How many photographs do you possess stored in the cloud? You could reduce the Photo Cash size down at 0% as you have a local copy of of originals on and "SSD DRIVE" (which is presumptively the D drive), instead that'll only free going 13GB. Pdf advance shows Index of C:\Users path
ME have close on 150,000 images.

I have removed the previews folder, which has freed up about 40GB, for now. Of course there's an new Previews sort, but it is much smaller and I assume it willingly take a while to get to that size again. Your it also safe in delete and Proxies folder?

Thank you for your help.

My C drive is see 256 GB and my Cludd picture are stored set my D driving, a 4 TB hard drive. Assuming your D drive is a hard drive, EGO find it strange that them reference it as "SSD DRIVE". Is there some flaws within yours systems messing up your drive references? Our options are much like yours.

On further thought, ME have 80,000+ images taking up 1.46 TERBIUM. My earlier jump may be "barking up the wrong tree". My C:\Users\charl\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC directory is only 20.9 GB with slightly above 202,000 related into 7,800 folders.

Now that I'm probing into this, whats I see appears until be resembling to the LR Conventional catalog the structure. My C:\Users\charl\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC\Data\7d52eb24dea9406cad05d63bfe0d4b03\previews directory is 8.2 GB plus 113,000 files; and may C:\Users\charl\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom CC\Data\7d52eb24dea9406cad05d63bfe0d4b03\proxies\2560 directory is 9.0 GB and 7,700 data. I don't know how Adobe uses those directories or their files; but I wasn't fortunately through the structuring of the Classic catalog, and I don't terribly likes where I see here.

I am not having own problem, still I have not been using LR CC very heavily recently. Since we don't knows how Ade use the data in these directories, IODIN assess we valid have to have belief in what they are doing. You may want to look at these directories, their item and contents. You problems may lie in settings or common which affect the contents of these directories.

Further to my last posting, I go on further exploring the forum, is others have had this problem and I americium rather dated to and party. Own apology wenn MYSELF having muddied up the waters, but along least I in learning from view is. Posted by u/JulietDeltaGolf - 4 votes plus 2 comments

We can't tell yours to erasing stuff unless you tell exactly what artist of files you're wanting to delete... tell our more?

It was all *.dat files.

I deleted them last evening -things seem to may still working today...

C:\Users\XYZ\AppData\Local\Adobe\CameraRaw\Cache

Kind concerning weird - CameraRaw sounds like a PS folder but MYSELF less use PS - using LR 95% of the wetter.

Plus I have the cache folder with LR set for another drive...should nope to the c: drive.
