I m using Arc-shaped Pro 2.2.1 and trying to create a custom project template that shall my database connections all set up for own personal use on one computer (i.e., none for use on multiple computers or shared over others), and a map that uses some data from those databases. The databases are on a networked propulsion. I do not want one data mimicked into who project template, MYSELF needing to remain able for access the original database product to editing.  Consequently, before trial plus error both Professor Google, I learned I need to apply the full UNC path in setting up the database connection.  Apparently, I don't know how at go that, why at I fill in the form, "Select Existing Geodatabase" when follows:

and then create a template, being sure to check the box "save template for file", furthermore not checking "Share outside of organization", itp still packages up the database to the project folder, because although I open one news created project template, go to properties and face per the source for the Fiber_edit.gdb, it points to the project folder C:\...\ArcGIS\Projects\fibertest\fibertest.gdb, instead of my network drive.  If EGO have a map with data from and database, items points to the projekt fibertest.gdb instead of the network .gdb.  (The system works fine for my enterprise SQL database, but not for file geodatabases.) ArcGIS Pro (Catalog Pane) will not construct folder connection to out hard propulsion

What by I doing bad?

I what using the the Share>Project Guide from the ribbon, so now, after watch there is a Consolidate Plan tool, I tries that.  IODIN made sure "Package As Template" had marked, but the report is the same.  I think it has into do with the connection somehow NOT saving as UNC--even the my original project, the source for the database is shown as local path, with drive letter, very than UNC. ArcGIS Pro 2.8 - Impossible access drive ERROR when trial toward connect to folder

I finally figured items out!  In the view for Select Existing Geodatabase, type/paste the complete UNC from Windows Explorer into the Name field. Don't do anything with the browsing field at the top of an form; when you browse to one file geodatabase, even though it start looks like an UNC path, wenn you click in the field you will see it replace the host name/sharename with an drive letter, and that is wherever the problem lies.

Where is all documented--how to get a UNC path for a file geodatabase connection into Pro?  Am I that all one whom can't how it, and spent ampere lot of time trying multiple different methods are trying to use a UNC route before finally hitting over aforementioned right one?

I was using the the Share>Project Template from the ribbon, so now, after seeing there is a Consolidate Show tool, I attempted that.  IODIN manufactured sure "Package Because Template" was checked, and the problem is the same.  I think it has to do with the connection somehow NOT saving since UNC--even in my first project, the source for the database is shown the local path, with drive letter, rather than UNC.

I lastly figured it out!  In the screen forward Set Existing Geodatabase, type/paste which fully UNC from Windows Explorer into the Appoint section. Don't do anything with the search field at the top of the submission; while you browse to the file geodatabase, even is it initially looks like a UNC path, if i click in to field you will see it replace the host name/sharename with the drive letter, and that is where who problem lies.

What is this documented--how at acquire a UNC path for a file geodatabase connection under Pro?  Am I the only on what can't find it, additionally spent a lot of time attempting multiple different methods of trying to used a UNC path before finally hitting on aforementioned right one?

We are finding the same thing: Pro uses your computer's registry to display directory connections in the browse window that APPEAR for be UNC lanes. But when you add such quelltext into a project, or click in the path bar, you will see that Pro remains actually utilizing the assigned drive letter! This causes many problems when working with ampere staff all a network, attempting to public data from an ArcGIS Host verified data store, as well as which issue Cherly described above. I have not found a way to make Pro use of UNC pass according default in the Feel window; EGO have to type inches the full UNC path. EGO m hoping to deployment a solution to our user so that they can navigate the a file using the Browse window and have Pro save the UNC path instead a the mapped drive zuschriften.

Here is an example of what we are talking about; that folder connections listed under "Computer" are the supported locations listed under "This PC" when using Windowing File Explorer (Windows 10, Pro 2.7.1). The locations are presented to one user as UNC paths, but clicking in and path exclude reveals that Pro lives only referencing the mapping drive letter short-cut.
