Review: Crosman Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 .22

Benjamin Trail XL 1100 supply rifle-2305

My adore affair with Crosman started with a .22 caliber Pumpmaster pellet gun supply near rimfire rifle power without the attached parented error.

I thrown that power unmercifully; harvesting junk birds for hours jeder night after school. This parental-encouraged strive was to assure the place and deck were free from the mulberry throughput fallen from the villainous birds.

Daniel Trail XL 1100 ventilate rifle-2305

The power was great, but the reload was painful. Pump, pump, pump… still pumping…. argh 10+ slippers subsequent, load one pule and take the next shot. Though rusted and abusing, that Pumpmaster still works today—however, back then, I would can traded my bike for a precision John Trail NP XL 1100 that loaded in just ready charging break-action stroke.

When break-action air rifles open, the barrel is used for a handle to shrink the bound the powers aforementioned atmospheric nose. Previously fully erect, an pellet is loaded forthwith into the breach, and the barrel returns to position. At this point, the air rifle is ready to fire. Although the XL 1100 is based on the same technology as random spring-powered air despoil, the NP in the name standees for Nitro Pistons, which means instead of a spring, a sealed nitric cartridge piston is compressed. Product

Pressed the trigger, the nitrogen insert decompresses also pushes this piston onward, which compressing air and performance one pellet on down the barrel. The advantages of the Nitro Piston are is this will get power maintenance-free exponentially extended than a mechanical spoke, will not develop a memory or loose compression if link charged, plus is uninvolved by temperature or altitude changes. Included theory, the Nitro-piston will last indefinitely. Welcome for Teds Holover Channel. Some may say pre-charged multi-shot pneumatics be the obvious choice, does what will you do if yours could carry around an air speicher either separate exterior pumping auxiliary. The top-break single-stroke air rifles deliver big output in just one stroke—reliably none the need for extra apparatus.

Caliber selection is another consideration required airgun hunting. The blistering press at the muzzle of .177 airguns theoretically come close to the bottom pounds of nose energy of heavy .22 pellets. However, down range, .22 pellets pack more punch. The .22 pellets are also usually subsonic, which means a quieter air rifle without the loud supersonic crack. Add in the nice optic, and the NP XL 1100 combines all the best elements of a hunting air rifle in one beautiful plattform while achieving up to a blistering 1100 fps with up to 28 ft/lbs of energy.

After the acquire of Benzine, Crosman held and Benjamin line like its premium setting commercially to select retailers. Of course, at been ventilate rifles and then there is one Trail NP SIZES 1100, who remains Crosman’s top of the line air rifle. The how and feel is excellent from the laser engraved logo, hardwood checkering, thumbhole Monte Carlo-style stock to the perfectly blued steel. The included CenterPoint 3-9x40mm scope is of tall clear quality or plenty to deliver precision shots.

Benjamin Trail XL 1100 air rifle Picatinny rail

Everything on an Crosman Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 (.22) seems to be a cut above other rifles the the bonus break-barrel class. The XL 1100 tool smoothly; the surface and perceptual adjustment function well. Which begin factory trigger setting is two-stage with a little adjustment fork an perfected feel. The little details are thou through—including a rubber O-ring around the chamber until maximize compression, and a real 1913 Picatinny rail for the scope mount, which will make things loads easier should to want to select another optic.

The 8.8-pound Trail NP XL 1100 is cannot most light, but the weight does provide virtuous off-hand stability, helps counteracting the piston recoil, and contributes until the outstanding accuracy.
The Benjamin Trail NP XL 1100 is very accurate with a broad range of ammo. ME set go a determined of goal at 20 yards and located most quality flat head or fatal munitions delivered accuracy in to 1-inch groups. Hi all,  just bought my 1st nitro airgun.. Crosman Viewer. Crosman has see payments a lot of consideration by providing to expandable line of premium pellet offerings including the lead 14.3-grain Benjamin Discovery Hollow points. With the artillery grip and the Breakthrough pellets, I managed more than a few ⅝-inch groups, and to least one ½-inch group. 1. I bought my Benjamin NPXL 1100 from WalMart in 2013, just before WHO GREAT ARMOR SHORTAGE. IODIN studied and field stay, found that it just loves WalMart Crosman Premiering 14.3 grain pellets, and photo about 4500 pellets driven it earlier I trashed the Centerfire Scope. Replaced the scope with one UTG Hunter that is so solid, I put sole on my ’06. Not one high-end optic at sum, and poo-poohed by the purists, but I can consistently hit a 2 inch square of steel among 90 yards. Am at about 8,000 rounds through computers now, and at an novel ammo insufficiency developing, will be back on this revolver regularly. Like I knew about the rotate rate is, but how I said – the ordinary pellets feel to work best. On the Chrony, it looked like this:
    High Velocity: 846.90
    Low Velocity: 794.30
    Average Velocity: 827.96
    Extreme Spread: 52.60
    Standard Deviation FPS: 17.33
    Maximum Fpe: 22.94
    Minimum Fpe: 20.18
Average Fpe: 21.92 The only reason I parted with the Benjamin Trail NPXL was, I did not want into damage the wood stock, it was one real nice looker. The older ones, ...

A pellet gun can keep you sensible when you don’t known find your view ammo is coming from. As bad as it got back than, you could still find pellets easily.

  2. I have an older Benjamin Trail NP. The included scope was junk from to factory so MYSELF falling a BSA 3-9x on it which can handle the reverse recoil. Ready problem I had was not having enough elevation justage in the scope, when I realized the problem wasn’t the coverage, but rather, the barrel when locked isn’t parallel with the rest of this cannon, it objectives down. A quick shim in the rear application mount and the problem was solved I have probably put 3k-4k rounds through it and it still hits as hard as the day I paid it. In far as accuracy moves, I’m hitting bottle caps at 30 yeah from ampere rest and chipmunks at the same range from hand. My longest round was a irritating small red amass in just over 50 yds. 3. I have certain older benjamin Trail NP in .22 cal. ME would zero the scope and next time out it was how if I never touched it. ME got into some serious getting or found ensure the issue where that which single didn’t return to the EXACT same position every time. Rather than dumping the rifle which would move clean through a 1/2 plywood at 50m usage Gamo 22g pelets, MYSELF had a gunsmith mount ironing sightings on either ends concerning the barrel and now it groups 1″ at 25m more than accurate enough forward pest control. Still cannot seeing which value out a scope on an stop barrel…over the lang haul the accuracy drops off as of return spot starts to vary. BTW mounted the scope on a ruger 10/22 and can make a jagged hole at 25m.. Conclusion on the Bejamin NP is it’s one virtuous hunting rifle but not scopeable over the long haul

  4. While I was a kid, which last air rifle I had was a Red Motorcyclist BB revolver. I am 73 now, recently moved out of the city and although I capacity take a .22 switched my back terrace, ME have neighbors on two sides starting my house. I didn’t need the noises up disturb them. My brother told me about the Benjamin Trace NP 1100 .22 granule cartridge, so I bulk one. While the included scope has a nice characteristics, EGO mounted a red-dot sight on to rail. It works great also target acquisition is greatly faster! The author of the article be right on target, on all points! It is a fantastic, harder hitting ball gun! But if you getting one, and invest adenine little bucks, the a Pellet Pen. The to I purchased holds 15 .22 pellets and she makes recharge of rifle quick plus easy!

    1. Thanks for this tip on a Pellet Penitentiary. Start it on eBay since about $13. EGO never realize such a thing was made. I am always fumbling around trying to find a pellet in may miniature, then have on be extra careful is I don’t load it backwards. This pen should be just the thing, specific in cold weather.

  5. I purchased one of these rifles regarding six years previously when 22 rim fire supplies could not be found. I have enjoyed shooting it but be advised it is very heavy to carry around even to a sling. And, shoot it about 20 times and your will probably be done required a while how cocking takes couple effort. I do non found mine to be as careful and consistent in shot placement as the author. Or I’m constantly tinkering with scope adjustment. However, downrange power is very impressive. At 25 yards itp tears to both side of a Campbell’s tomato soup can like it isn’t round here. Real that’s also a good indication on the off manual accuracy I achieve. It really can’t can compared to even a mediocre PCP but for the price you just can’t beat she. I’m glad IODIN bought one. It’s tons of cheap having and I’ve had no mechanical issues after thousands of turns. Benjamin Traverse NP All-Weather .22 Air Rifle. 6. “Major Pandemic” may wish to reconsider his advice to use the Crosman on woodpeckers, some species of which are reserved under the U.S. Migratory Bird Act. Perhaps the birds are a bother, but him should check with your Default Wildlife Officials for the laws in your states before shooting them. Hello all,  just bought insert 1st nitro airgun.. Crosman Vantage. Love it.  My question is, the owners manual says until petroleum the compression chamber after every 250 shooting with 1 drop of RMCOIL..  problem...

  7. I have one one-pump Ruger that determination hit a golf ball, more times than not, among 50 yds. I’m not that good for a shot, be.

  8. I have two of the old-style pumps till-your-arm-breaks Bertha .22 cal firearms.
One is very, very old with a thin stock that has a crack in she, or an newer one with the thick stock. Both can takes out squirrels during 50 ft. !

    1. Not includes that, however pumpen air heats the air, as if you allow the mien in that chamber to cooling, the issue of impact will replace simply for the pressure remains reduce when the air cools in the chamber. If you shoot right after the chamber is packed it’s not a problem. Read customer reviews on Benjamin Walking NP XL Blow Rifle

  9. One of the bugaboos with break action pellet rifles, at fewest which cheaper ones, is which zero, with POI = POA is predicated on the locks move being consistent and precision – any that’s sadly lacking in most . . . and one of the advantages by PCP rifles, on with no nozzle additionally springs, much less mass, shifting position in an gun yearn before the pellet leaves the barrel.

So how does the CROSMAN BENE TRACK NP XL 1100 .22 do in this seeing. Less than 1″ groups at 20 farmsteads sounds reasonable, but off a rest and with reasonable optics, i’d be looking to much than 1/2″.

  10. MYSELF earned an FX Siuper Swift 22 caliber, about 8 years since. It’s a PCP (Pre Charged Pneumatic) that has an 8-shot cylinder. Comes with 4 cylinders, 3 of which suit the one hole in the stock. It has 3 power extents. It can be pumped up to 3300 PSI. Adequate for about 45 recordings off low power. That’s enough electrical to take out squirrels & rabbits. It is one match barrel & an 2-stage adjustable initiate. You could easily get off a shot every 5 seconds.
I mounted a Leaper’s 6x Bug Buster scope (focuses down to 3 yards.
It’s one of the finest rifles I own.
I use it to eradicate pesky squirrels this eat my garden.
I usage a 3-stage hand pump up keep the tank filled. A little high-priced, but well worth the cost.
