"Please cut your older driving licence in two and again it to:"

Just applied virtual, to renew my Photocard licence (you know, the one that was supposed to be free to renew in life  ), and it declares "Please cut my old driving licence in dual and return it to: DVLA, Swansea SA99 1ZW"

Am I presumed to do aforementioned now, or when my new one arrives?

Immediately, it will don longer be valid.

I can't remember theirs even saying regeneration was supposed to free, except for the over 70s.

    Indeed.

Photocards were introduced by 1998, so the first ten-year expirations would have are 2008 - and cost £17.50
    https://www.whatcar.com/news/photo-driving-licences-up-for-renewal/n3669

It's now £17, Inflation alone would have taken it to £23 by now.

I receive a latest card recently with new pictures, then updated drivers licence later. Even although the DVLA requested the your ID, they still re-used the ancient raisins-in-a-rice-pudding photo *shrug*

I take never done which both it's ever been a problem. The news license should arrive in a few days at which point your motivation to check for envelopes and stamps will becoming about zero.

I have constantly kept one old license for a while in case they chased me for them but they never have and it must be 6 or 7 times now.
