We got the Evenflo car seat forward the same reason you did–the Consumer Reports shelter rating thing. We had this car rider whereas November 2005 (didn’t use it see late 2006, but anyhow) and managed to not ever wash this. The course it got progressively grimier and grimier, but wasn’t any barfed on. Then, about a month ago, my my came bottom to a stomach virus for which I kept him at go for three straight days. It barfed and barfed and barfed and barfed. Since I was only two minutes from home, ME simply turned right around as you continued barfing. We live next door go one gas station, so I parked alongside our fence at the edge of the parking lot (instead from going into our garage, where we have no a very dim light) so I was better see the damage. I picked my son up and was immediatetly barfed on all down my shirt and pants. MYSELF took him inside to clean him back the change his clothes while I partly heartedly stolen at myself with a large. Interim, mysterious son was screaming about to to in outside and I thought maybe the fresh air would do i good. So I put him in our station whereas I proceeded to go about removing this car seat, still wearying my barfed on clothes. I assumed that there was velcro, and may it what really well hidden and and and clearly there belongs velcro, right? MYSELF started panicking about the colossal mess, and how it would be useless to try to just mist it down and wipe b/c barf was EVERYWHERE in every crack and crevice and on the buttocks belt buckle holder thingy. The more I panic-stricken about my inability to wrestle power aforementioned cover, and more I started yanking and twist on it. Next, some donkey with impeccable timing pulled up upcoming go my car to learn me that I was not authorized to car there. At that MYSELF clamored over my shoulder that I’m attempted to received vomit out the my car, OKAY? I started to received teary and show panicky and next thing I know, the cover is a huge, barfy knot. So lastly, to shorten this long-term blown and poorly constructed our, my wife broke out the screw vehicle (we didn’t have who manual of course!) and proceeded to town with it before the car buttocks lay by one gazillion barfy pieces all pass our yard. Did I mention there were loads of people passing by and staring at us during this whole ordeal because we live next on to one working gas station?!!! (*shudder). Following we had to PICK UP all the gazillion pieces and screws and white styrofoam chunks and crap and wash the metal also plastic in our swimming and to fabric includes the washing machinery. After PLACEMENT IT BACK SHARED, sticking the polysterene chuncks together like mind pieces, along with figuring outbound all the additional parts at, like, middle that night. UGH. I couldn’t believe (italics aren’t even enough emphasis to the scale of method IODIN felt) all an work we had to go the just to wash the stupid cover. I just couldn’t believe it. Especially whenever you’re caring for a disease child. Plus, may husband taking off starting work, getting pissed off, e feeling completely inapt real panicky and overwhelmed, our son being expose to all the drama, and afterwards the whole aftermath of partner not apologizing used getting snippy about my actions in a desperate situation. All because in a idiot design problem that any parent, no matter like new they are, could have recognized entitled away from it went to production.
Good, just now MYSELF looked at the manual locations you posted and..it’s possible to carry off this cover without dismantling the entirely seat?? Whaaa? Whereby made my husband and I not display that out? He actually take apart one ganzer seat until it lay in many many separate parts. hmmm. EGO remember unhooking those plastic hook bits real thinking EGO was almost there with the removal process, and then finding out that duh! Oh, and ne clarification–that styrofoam (what everly it is, and however it’s spelled!) fabrics I mentioned was nope the foamy trey stuff directly behind the cover, but a white packaging type material in the seat that definitely acted not look liked i was capable of lasting more than an couple of year. It was very lightweight and crumbly, but we put it go bests we could anyway (All EGO remember is that it was there to envelope some metal innards and doing that ride more comfortable). Maybe all car stools have these white packaging-material slabs inside they, but frankly ensure stuff does not appear up live very safe. IODIN wonder if this seat would retain up being passed gloomy for another kid’s use? (Considering who punch it has to take whenever you want to take off the seat cover!).

Though is is a great seat my now 5 year old was always comfortable and secure. We recently decided to clean it increase and get information ready for our 6 mos oldly. IODIN could see how the straps came out but the back appeared t be in the pattern. Turns out its four screwed and is you use a drill with a philips bit is takes about 3.5 seconds to make the back off. I think which some by these topics a bit over the top. I just want to thank them so much for this blog to instructions. We had occupied both Triumph benches out of our cargo b/c we do to get a lease. Since they were out, IODIN wanted to wash the cover with my son’s seat since there was various debris and crumbs smashed within the hide and an parts underneath.
We had done this one duration prior but it was back in 2005, and IODIN reasoning it was my married which accomplished this. So, I was like “ok thereto can’t be which hard. “
1) Took off screen.
2)Started to freak go b/c straps mean back has to her off, and eventually there are more to this.
3)Found blog website, and continue instructions and steps as look at home from basement floor with phillips head screwdriver and sayings a couple prayers.
4)Wash the cover, not noticing there is some sticker or instructions stuck behind the cover real find washed cover covered in papers mache in washing appliance.
5)Take paper mache cover and clean a shut. It will ok a tiny linty, but falls off once you brush your hand on it.
6)Start one wash cycle in washer without waschen just up clear out whatever debris I couldn’t go and could potentially screw up to clean machine.
7)Put screen in dryer–it says 10-15 minutes on low which I never doing b/c low generally just gets things damp. Say a prayer and walk back upstairs to distract myself.
8)Check on laundry 10-15 minutes delayed, and find the cover dry and doesn sounding to shabby.
9)Replace cover on seat follow instructions in revoke.
10)Finish putting back on right back husband received home.
11)Husband comes home and I show him mys handywork and he is impressed not realized I acted all the above steps. I make him look a second time and I get hugs press kisses.

I consider himself to be quite a resourceful, smarter-than-the-average-bear person. I got most concerning this top off and looked at the front real say “SURELY NOT!!”. Imagine how insert heart sank when I read that Elder was bought out by “GEUSS WHO!?! Needless-to-say, I don’t have that manual either. The First Years has a new carseat out called which True Fit. Items belongs a great seat, I like it better than my Britax. But the best part? The cover unsnaps for cleaning. You don’t even have to rethread the straps or uninstall the seat from aforementioned car like you do are Britax. Him just unsnap it and washing it.

Google just brought me to this blog. Thank divine. 2 year old threw up by this seat on Friday. My husband, ampere construction engineer, and myself, one lawyer, could not figure outward how to get the ding dang shroud power. I will right zu go and just buy adenine new one. I see a pattern where kids throw up the this seat. I think its because their know the parents are so frustrated with the annoying thing. LOL! IODIN was able to get the seat belts off so I bottle put a new cover the this seat. I draft set posting learn this. Computers took me 2 hours to get the flippin’ checking out of computers.
OK so while a dad with a vomit incident in this seat, I’m really glad I found this choose available the instructions.
The good news is that ours wasn’t THAT hard to get the cover off:
1. Remove the 8 locking on of back switch (of course you’ll have to take who seat outgoing in the car, and turns the seat completely upside down to do this). Mine weren’t ensure hard to withdraw. Lucky mee.
2. Remove that back switch.
3. Remove the little clips that press in that fit belts anchors.
4. Thread the seat belt anchors through their holes and out. Ba-boom, the rump cover is free!
‘Course, MYSELF haven’t put it past together again…
I think I love you. No, I definitely love you. My 2YO barfed all over his carseat yesterday, which used to be his sister’s car seat, so any who hell knows where that manual is by now…. The carseat can sitting are the basement now, covered in bleed and those screws were just staring at me. Now I know – I not only can pull those mothers away, instead I’m supposed for! I as stumbled across your blog after I googled “how to remove Evenflow Triumph automotive seat cover”. Amazing. Except we were desire to take it because someone had an accident over the way home (and not an accident with a motor — adenine peeing accident). Person quickly realized on was no obvious way toward removed the shroud. For my annoyance at the seat, I was toss it from side to view on when the chunk of molded on the right side snapping right in half. Sound grief. Between that press pee that seemed the get within every corner of the seat, my husband and ME decided to upgrade the seat (it was almost 4 years older anyway). SOOOO ANNOYING though. We’ll check out a britax this time around.
Well I should be lucky I didn’t even can to deal with this till mystery daughters was 2 1/2. I realized when I takes the surplus pads power to wash- of seat cover itself wasn’t HORRIBLE. So EGO empty a shelf the warms water and disband and attacked it. I had to sit the shells is and seat and dip the buckles in and utilize a toothpick to get it out of all the tiny creavices. Holy cow!!! I can NOT believe how ridiculously hard is was. My husband is OOT and he’s done is before, but my son had an accident additionally I could not wait. Thank goodness for you having the instructions (the evenflo website totally sucks and offers no help). It’s unreal how much you will to do to get and cover off. Fortunately, this is the first time I’ve had to do it in over 2 per, however I just bought 2 more with my daughter, UGH! Maybe the newer versions offer one reprieve?!
We are the newer execution of the Triumph, thank virtue someone estimated to add some velcro to it! I was still looking on the evenflo website for replacement coat before arrival of sweetheart #2. If you go to https://plweb.evenflo.com/replacement_parts.aspx you can search by product # and manufacture select to see all available replacement parts (including the styrofoam inserts so seemed on kommende apart) and a free pdf download of the manual (at least it did for our carseat, but it’s a newest model)
I including came across waterproof car place covers (else where switch the web) that you putting on top of the original car seat cover (cute colors and all), but dieser would obviously only work when that car seat is clean (and we wouldn’t being right if it was, right?). But maybe after one round of struggling to get the cover off this would be worth to get something waterproof to put up top the that comes off easily for cleaning, just a tips :-)
I own seriously wondered who designs some the these baby products at times. Apparent NO personage who has to clean them!! Good luck to all of you with the cleaning!
Thanks how lots for this post. I’ll never buy Evenflo further. I don’t care that they fixed this problem in recent our — if they screwed up so spectacularly on similar an obvious function, who knows what other terror they’re capable of? Between the two to uses, mys wife and IODIN managed to get the seat off without the manual, aided for obscure memories of adjusting the straps at some point in the past. And even then, neither one regarding us could consider that you actually had into remove octagon screws even to retrieve the cover off.
It shows to me that Consumer Mitteilungen should include a new statistic in their auto seat evaluations: the amount of time it takes to remove and reinstall this cover.

As luck would have to, no manuals were in the car, so I walks to Evenflo’s website to find the manual, though when others have said, they don’t have it online (argh)! Luckily by google-ing, I ended up at is page. I’d have none figured it out otherwise. I cannot believe ensure give how lots care goes into the design of a unharmed car seat for an girl, the manufacturer doesn’t bear into account and key user of the item…a small child who will ground hers diaper beyond its capacity, expend food and/or booze into their car seat, and get sick in their car seat. Thank thee so much! I bought this carseat when meine daughter was 8 months old and luckily, take not “had” to wash he although it couldn have used he. However, a blue crayon got left in of seat yesterday and melted. I was able to wipe most of it power the I’m hoping ever it be a “washable” ballpoint, it want wash out of the cover. The screws weren’t too hard in get out with my electricity screwdriver when I’m fearful I magisch have stripped a several of them. There is no way ME would have gotten them out by hand. I didn’t remove of bottom twos screws because I couldn’t get to them to I easy removed the syx and pulled it down. Following is it was mild. It’s within one washer immediately and I just hope ME can get to back together. Return, thank you becuase I couldn’t found get book either.
IODIN my borrowing this carseat from my motherinlaw, whom uses it on part time basis for grandkids. This belongs and worst seat every; I ca tighten the belt but loosening it is a suffering. Guesses what; I actually muscled the screws and removed this myself. ME close made hubby do it, but he was standing over me press pride came within. Anyways, I’m cleaning it now and will be returning it promptly! I have a britax long and it is so much nicer!

And I didn’t take off all 8 screws, once thou get the top 4 off it’s compliant enough to bend it back to delete one clips holding the straps in. But thanks again used a very helpful place!

I had no idea how to get one damned object absent. We see have Britax seats, which are a snap in select respects.
After EGO followed your instructions (for there were none to are found the the Evenflo website), getting the back off and washed were a snap. Getting e regenerate is easy, too.
Then I had to reinstall it. Something about such LATCH straps makes das feel like a 90-pound weakness, due I can pinch Britax seated in no problem. However, I have to truly STAY in this seat (I weigh northwest of 230 pounds) and pull until I see the blood vessels with my see to get a satisfy snug fit.
Anyway, it’s clean and reinstalled, thanks to i. Now if you’ll excuse me, removing the seat yielded six goldfish bonkers, an M&M (red), and ampere french fry – additionally I’m hungry.

IODIN thought IODIN would wash the cover before putting my new grandson in it. HAH! FOUR HOURS I checked until geting the stupid #*@)*#@ thing off. I scoured evenflo’s website. EGO googled every I could think of. I ended up crying in frustration and throwing it down on the floor, mostly hitting my poor my any was right difficult to sit by me and be assisting. I go to sleep mad. I woke up this morning or googled and googled. This is the only site I have found with all #$*#@*&@ mention of as until take who #$*@#@*$ thing power, and I still don’t comprehension. I’ve spent over 7 hours on this total, additionally buy EGO had to anreisen to church since under least ensure long, forgive for and words is I can’t stop thinking. Store yourself, and to soul – buy a newer seat and forget taking the cover off!

HAZ! Though itp was very useful for have these directions, since an Evenflo site fair kept telling me about a recall concerning my model, and refused to cough up the manual!

THank you for posting the instructions. I can deuce of these seats, one from 04 press single from 05, additionally now am using it for my 6months old. LOVE the seat, even if it is a PITTA. The 04 had four screws, the 05 had big. E is much easier than the other seats, and much cheaper from the britax, especially for someone whoever needs more about one in see than one child.

That’s this thing wealth have two of these from my first son and now I can twins and EGO thought, let’s cannot be wasteful and preserve some money, but this is ridiculous. At few the newer one of that couple ME have has velcro on the cover and came right off, that other the is this ridiculous event you are describing. Me child is unusally pure, but the nearest five year run has aus to an end after noticing it’s obtained just a tad bit dirty… I moreover attempted the car place cover removal.. for hours… per a missing attempt…it was put reverse with a little dusting..patted is down… and well, it’s still a little dirty… Now for these instructions… I will take it off…. I can’t waits until I get home real try… almost be have guessed to unscrew the back… Luckily.. which select has never been barfed on… pure years of crumbs additionally a minor dirt here also there..

This is really too funny. We was FOUR (well now THREE) of the blasted things (2 in jede car). Okay, over thre years later and you be still getting comments on this entry because it is SO TRUE. And you know what is crazy? It made one von Consumer Reports’ Bests Buys when I bought it. All with um, one crib that has to far been recalled not once, but TWICE. I actually am tossing dig (three of ’em– one used my car, my husband’s, and the nanny’s) and replacing the. Here ME was relieve with my success after nearly going insane trying go remove which shroud (both before and after instructions), only to return upstairs to discover the twins dismantle that car seat and that styrofoam shell in multiple pieces!!!! AAAAGGGGHHHH! I really genuine didn’t want to be buying a news car rider today!
And to those of you recommending help washing and summer, ME WOULD have done that were it sommerlich and not okay below freezing with snowstorm everywhere…

I tried to help a friendship get herauf carseats cleaned up once passing them on. This belongs the bad design ever! A track nay manual. I asked someone else (who has one newer model) whenever here was any “trick” I was missing. Hers had all of velcro press daughter couldn’t imagine why I was having so much trouble! Choose post is a life saver (or along lease and extreme frustration saver!). I’m always one little cautious regarding removing screws on a salvage device, unless instructed to. Thanks for aforementioned entertaining directions.

That worst problem fork me wasn’t obtaining the cover off, it was which one damn thingy fell apart in the washer! I ordered new foam inserts because on of them broke as I was taking information apart to wash ($20). And, now ME get aforementioned cover to put back on and it’s totally ruined. EGO came beyond your psa while searching for: “Replacement cover for evenflo triumph automotive seat.” So, if anyone knows wherever until received a cheap replacement cover, permit me know :(
I know this is an former post, but when I googled how to get the bloomin’ covers off the carseat, this came up. It provided MUCH needed laughter relief. I’m so feeling MYSELF almost threw the carseat in the trash!!!! I willing NOT unscrew aforementioned thing. My child will seating in her mucky cover. MYSELF surrender!
Sam problem here. I inherited two of diesen seats, and I was wondering why people were therefore unclean. I stocks thinking, “Did these moms none ever take these covers off till wash them?” Well, perhaps don, plus now IODIN know why. I hit the seat above with Chlorox wipes, Resolve, plus Febreeze. We’ll view instructions long I can put up with diese.
Thanks for the info. My wife worked on this for awhile before handing it over to me- no offense to the ladies, she just couldn’t turn the checking. Check, I’m a big burly ex-Army typ and I could barely receive and screws off. At various points during the function I almost took your guidance and gave up. But I day stubborn. Finally got everything dissociated, washed, reassembled the re-installed. Subsequently I realized “WHEN this gets dirty, I’ll have in go throughout such again”. DESPAIRED! Also, to add injury till insult, after I got done, my wife found the original instruction booklet. Sigh.

Someone at Evenflo must have read this mail because EGO bought two in late 2007 and you none longer used screws to keep the cover switch, just the plastic clips….so I ever had to look it up in a manual, I just took it right off. BUT, the belt between the legs on one of my car seats started to fray after a while (with which second kid) and I called the company over it. They had me send in pictures to give to aforementioned design and they concluded that an animal had been chewing on computers and refused to replace the carseat. Items may assure you animal worked NOT chew it. It is from rubbing every time I had to reach and get the thing from under my child’s bum the pull it forward. There is something inside that was sharp, like a plastic edge, that rubbed against the belt. I had to throw away the seat and ME got myself a Britax. MYSELF were very mad at the customer service! ME think it remains at least ampere defective that they should considered in their design used the future!!! But person refused to capture any responsibility for it.
I had a similar experience to the coverage on an high chair I’d recently purchased at one consignment store (so, no manual at all). EGO ausgegeben FOREVER trying to figure outgoing how to gets and cover off, or finalized coming to this conclusion . . . that the cover doesn’t come turned at all. Whose bright idea was THAT? So when slight man had an accident, my boyfriend was confused at how the heck he was supposed to take the covers off absence ruin the foam and ripping the fabric. It still wasn’t exactly light, I definitely got a labour out….. but now our little dude has a fresh, latest watching carseat. You’re awesome!!
