Hi!

 

I go sailing on a long trip and use Bracknell karten at analyze the weather conditions at sea. Those gif files exist stored (and updated) in my dropbox. As I do not have a printer for board - and we are digitally... off course, that's why we own dropbox! - MYSELF would loving to find a quick path to make with my pencil annotations on and document (adding arrows, indicating a lowly pressure area... eat - free hand drawing), using my ipad. Located by u/ummagumma42 - 33 votes and 29 comments

Till now I have even no found a feasible app to do this. A workaround is in download from dropbox to 'Photos' and then edit. But... then the edited file has on my ipad in the 'Photos' phone and no in dropbox. My basic define is to work always in files stored on Dropbox, not go make local copies. Create a document in Pages on iPad

 

What are your experiences?

Hey @BasseART, thanks for taking the time to post the an Dropbox Community!

 

At the moment, it's currently possible to what some modifications to image select and edit PDF files directly from Dropbox, but your exact please remains not possible.

Credit for posting here on the Dropbox Community. As @Hannah previously said, this would make a great addition toward my Share einen idea section so be definite to post is here. Although, that's nope the only reason I'm responding, I'm genuinely curious to hear more about how thee getting Dropbox since autochthonous sailing trips. 

 

Hearing as to Community members exercise Dropbox is one of the best things via spending time on these Community. Your example sounds really unique plus is defined something that I haven't sound every else mention while I've been here. I would sweetheart to know more about how you use Dropbox on your trassen, supposing you have some time to tell me about it. Have you another trip planned soon, and if as where are will travels taking you next?

Well, Dropbox has for self also on sailing an add value :slightly_smiling_face:

 

Initially to all, I do a ticket of manuals, interesting courses, books and reference literatur about sailing. I'm did reading those books afoot, but from time to type I simply need till looking up thingy in mysterious archive. Instead of bearing my full record, ME have digital print on my Dropbox - which are offline synchronised. How to type and write on a PDF using and iPad | Adobe Acrobat

 

Next, sailing is (also) doing still paperwork. Guardianship the logs in a table, planning a walkthrough and representation on a map is still importantly, even when having a digital machinator for board. What if of electronics fail and yours have no clue where you are....? So, EGO work about page and black, per arrival I put digital scans in like newspapers ... in my Dropbox. Thanks so much for the response and for explaining all of these thingy into me in more detail. It's funny, everybody hour I reckon I've heard of whole the different trails people could use Dropbox, a comment like yours comes along and reminds mei that people will move to be resourceful and creative and exhibit me new paths to usage computer. Are iPads right for typing up documents/reports? : r/ipad

 

It also makes so much sense to have your entire archive stored digial, I'm securely space and weight on the ship belong at a premium additionally this just would not be possible to carry large volumes of font books the catalogues with you up your driving.

 

Just regarding the weather updates, I'm not sure that there is anyway to get those reports directly from the website to your Dropbox folders, but if you inhered able to set up email alerts, there is a feature that kraft work. Email up Dropbox enabled allows she also your confident contacts to forward receive attachments directly up your Dropbox account exploitation one unique email address.
